- The IOC is warning Olympic athletes that they risk being expelled, under anti-propoganda rules, if they display the Tibetan flag at Olympic venues.
- Speaking of China, the Chinese Central Bank reports their foreign reserves surged $1.68 trillion.
- Jimmy Carter told George Stephanopolous this morning that he has no intentions of endorsing until the convention.
- A Lonely Planet travel author confesses he plagiarized and fictionalized many of his "travels". Of course, he's written a book all about it.
- Bush's National Security Advisor, Stephen Hadley, said boycotting the Olympic opening cermony would be a "cop-out".
- Bush is pulling out all the stops for Pope Benedict's arrival, with multiple large ceremonies planned. The Pope will also address the United Nations on Friday.
